About the Raleigh-Wake WSSU RAMS
The Raleigh-Wake Chapter of the Winston-Salem State University Alumni Association includes alumni residing in the greater Raleigh area, including Cary, Garner, Knightdale, and all the surrounding communities in Wake County. The purpose of this organization is to uphold the ideals of the university, to support and contribute to the needs of the university, to take a responsible interest in community and civic affairs, to contribute regularly to scholarship programs, and to provide a social outlet for its members.
Our goals include assisting in the preservation of WSSU as a world class institution of higher education. We support the university financially through various fundraising campaigns and scholarship funds. Many chapter members also make individual contributions directly to the WSSU Foundation and the HORN$ Giving club.
The Chapter actively engages the Wake County community by participating in a variety of activities, including local college fairs, workshops, and university sponsored events. The Chapter actively recruits students attending schools in Wake County. Information regarding the Chapter’s scholarship and WSSU programs of study is made available to the counselor of each Wake County high school. Additionally, the Chapter visits local churches and other organizations to help ensure WSSU continues to be a college choice for middle and high school students interested in furthering their education.
We meet on the third Sunday of every month (except June and July) at 3:00 pm at the following location:
